College

Carpathia Dance Group, also called the Carpathia Youth Group, dances locally yet makes friends around the world. For junior high, high school and college ages, the group starts with dance but, through events and experiences, it is so much more. â€‹

We are a 100% volunteer run group. We keep the traditions of German, Austrian and Donauschwaben folk dance. But more, we also see the importance of sharing a sense of community and connection for young people.

Dance

Carpathia Dance Group is a youth group, so the dances are energetic and fun! Ages 14 - 26, it's primarily and high school and college aged group. There's no experience necessary - you'll be surprised how quickly you'll learn.

Friendships

Practices, performances, road trips, ski trips, camping weekends and more - Ask former youth group dancers to share their stories, but know you'll make your own. This is a place for lifelong friendships.

Dancers choose dances

Our dance group has instructors and guest instructors ready to teach what we want to learn. Everyone has seen Bavarian Schuplattler - let's try it!  Or there's an elegant Austrian "Sound of Music" Ländler - we can learn that, too. We are a dancer guided group.

Events:  Winter Ball

With historical costuming streaming everywhere, our royal evening fits right in!  At the annual Winter Ball, the performance is elegant, the evening is semi-formal, and the whole night is fun!

Travel Opportunites

Carpathia Dance Group has friendships with groups across the USA and Canada. Always optional but happily offered, there are many opportunities to travel or host. The biggest national dance meet, called "Treffen," is an annual event hosted by a different city each year. There are opportunities to dance in Germany and Austria, too!
