Stefan Jäger painting of Donauschwaben people entering church

Carpathia Club is a non-profit cultural organization representing German and Danube Swabian (Donauschwaben) traditions and language. Donauschwaben traveled from German regions in the 17th century, often down the Danube (Donau) River, to the far reaches of Austria-Hungary. The land offered opportunity and - after many generations of hard work - became a prosperous region. The Donauschwaben started new lives in a new land to give their families a better future.
